How to start

First understand the case, then choose the path.

Every case starts the same way: with an initial case analysis. If you first want to experience how mediation works and find the right mediator, take the starter package. Afterwards you decide how to continue.

  1. 01

    Initial case analysis

Your case is prepared using the same framework as every other. The analysis is included in the price, in the online process as well as in the starter package, and goes to your mediator if you hand over.

  2. 02

    Starter package (optional)

Understand mediation, meet several mediators and assess whether a solution is possible. No agreement is reached at this stage.

  3. 03

    Choose your path

The online process at a fixed price, personal mediation through medipact or directly with your mediator – or you pause. Further costs only arise if you continue.

Digital starter package · €189 per case

First understand how mediation works. Then choose the mediator who suits you.

Not sure yet which approach fits your conflict – or who you want to work with? That is exactly what the starter package is for: you go through the first steps of a mediation digitally with the other side, then meet several mediators in person before you commit.

01

Understand the methods

Introduction, issues, interests: you work through the first phases yourself and see how mediation works. In the calls you ask how each mediator works – more structuring or more solution-focused, joint sessions or separate talks, in person or by video.

02

Meet different mediators

Up to 3 introductory calls of 20 minutes each – with profiles you shortlisted or mediators who respond to your case. You compare, and only then decide who to continue with.

03

Assess whether a solution is possible

The facts you clarify together and the first exercises on issues and interests show whether a solution is within reach between you. No agreement is reached within the starter package – you work that out afterwards, on the path you choose.

  1. 01

    Invite and introduction

You invite the other side. Once they accept, you split the price – then you clarify your concern, the process and confidentiality together.

  2. 02

    Collect the issues

Both sides note separately what needs to be resolved. Clear questions guide you, each at your own pace.

  3. 03

    Work out interests

What lies behind the positions? Needs, worries and what really counts – set side by side for both parties.

  4. 04

    Handover to your mediator

Both sides agree to the handover. Then up to 3 introductory calls of 20 minutes each – the person you choose takes over with everything you have prepared.

What happens in an introductory call

In 20 minutes you clarify with the mediator what you need for your decision. The calls follow a shared guideline – so you can compare the mediators with each other.

  • ✓A short introduction: who you are, what the call is for and how much time you have
  • ✓How the mediation works and what role the mediator plays in it
  • ✓The principles of the process: confidentiality, impartiality, neutrality
  • ✓What brought you to mediation now – and what you have already tried to resolve the conflict
  • ✓Who takes part in the mediation and whether other people should be involved
  • ✓The setting: online or in person, dates and length of the sessions
  • ✓What the further mediation costs
  • ✓What happens next if you choose this mediator

  • ✓An assessment of whether a solution is within reach – reaching an agreement is not part of the package

Afterwards you decide: continue via medipact, with sessions at the hourly rate shown in the profile split between you – or directly with your mediator, who bills you directly and receives only your results from us. Or you pause. Further costs only arise if you continue.

Get started in 3 steps

How to start your mediation

No complicated procedure – a clear, guided path from the first click to an agreement.

  1. 1

    Open your case online

Describe your conflict in a few minutes – anonymously and without obligation. No lawyer, no in-person appointment.

  2. 2

Invite the other side and work out interests

The other side is invited in a neutral way. Together you set a date for the first conversation.

  3. 3

    Find a joint solution

In a structured and fair way, you work out a solution both sides can live with – put down in writing.

Does the other side have to agree right away?

No. You first open your case on your own. Only afterwards is the other side invited – neutrally and without accusations.

What does the first step cost?

Nothing. Your account and opening your case are free and non-binding – the actual mediation starts with the entry plan from €49 per party.

Is the outcome legally binding?

The final agreement is a binding contract. For legally complex matters, it should also be reviewed by a lawyer or notary.

What medipact is made for.

Divorce mediation online.
Separation & support

Divorce mediation online.

Separation and divorce don't just mean emotional strain – they also mean concrete decisions: support, childcare, finances. That is exactly what divorce mediation is for – a structured process that leads both sides to a workable arrangement, even when their ideas are far apart.

Different expectations

Both sides have clear expectations – but no common ground on what a fair solution could look like.

Emotions block conversations

Hurt and disappointment make it hard to talk calmly about support or childcare.

Pressure from time and money

Financial uncertainty and the need for quick decisions add further pressure to the conflict.

How it works

6 clear steps towards a possible agreement.

Guided rather than left on your own, based on the Harvard principle – fair to all sides.

  1. 01

    Describe the conflict

You describe the situation from your point of view – confidentially and at your own pace. The other side is invited fairly.

  2. 02

    Guided process

Six structured phases based on the Harvard principle: from collecting topics through interests to fair options.

  3. 03

    Binding agreement

At the end there is a concrete agreement: who does what by when – recorded and confirmed by both sides.

Outcomes

This is what a way out sounds like.

Voices from our case studies – from separation to shareholder disputes.

Separation with children
“I never thought Thomas and I would find a solution without a war. The mediator didn't give us advice – he asked us questions that made us think for ourselves. And the children – Emma and Felix are so relaxed. They see their dad regularly, they know we both love them.”

Neighbours · Noise
“We just wanted to sleep peacefully again. Now there are clear rules – and finally peace again.”
The Schneider familyView case →
Shareholder dispute
“A judge would have decided who was right. The mediation made sure the company will still exist in five years. That's not the same thing.”
Stefan & TobiasView case →
Inheritance
“I thought Klaus and I would now spend two years fighting in court. Mediation showed us: we both want to be treated fairly. Anna keeps our parents' house, Klaus gets his money. And we're siblings again instead of enemies.”

“We're both intelligent people. Court would have been an insult to our intelligence. Mediation was professional, fair and saved us enormous costs. Looking back, it was the only sensible decision.”

What we believe

Most conflicts don't need a court.

They need a process that holds. Because a dispute doesn't just cost money: it costs months in which nothing is decided, and it costs the relationship that still has to work afterwards. Anyone who adds that up beforehand decides differently. medipact gives the dispute a structure – clear steps, equal rights for both sides, trained mediators – so that in the end, you decide, not the escalation.

Background

Did you know?

01 / 10

Origins of the method

The Harvard Negotiation Project was founded in 1979. It produced the 1981 worldwide bestseller "Getting to Yes" by Roger Fisher and William Ury – the basis of the principle medipact implements digitally today: interests, not positions.

The first step

The dispute doesn't have to get bigger.

You open the case, describe the situation from your point of view and see what the process looks like. None of it is binding – and the first step isn't agreement, it's clarity.
